ABOUT ROBOT ROUNDABOUT
We love robots and the joy of learning they provide!
Robot Roundabout is a 2400sft facility in Kirkland, WA that provides a new and exciting learning experiences for learning about robotics, micro-controllers, coding, engineering, building robots, and hosting robotic competitions in several of our arenas. From vacuum cleaners to rovers on Mars, robots are the next big technology push and the future for many jobs.
We also offer a totally fun and unique birthday party option for kids in Kirkland and the Seattle area! Our birthday parties are the best, and a great alternative to a bouncy house birthday party, or the other common kids birthday party themes that are repeated over and over!
So if you have a little maker, tinkerer, or robot builder in your family, this is the place to be!
With the help of many of our robot friends, students will learn about robotics and STEM technologies.
Some of the programs we offer:
~ Programming with Scratch – A popular software development platform for kids: Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.
~ Inventing with MayKey MayKey – Allows students to make anything into a key (get it?) just by completing simple connections. The MaKey MaKey tricks a computer into thinking that almost anything is a keyboard. Play a game with a Play-Doh keyboard, or make a banana piano!
~ Robots Activate – Combining a real robot with coding fires up a student’s imagination, inspires dreams, and builds confidence. Our robots can respond to voice, navigate objects, and even sing and dance. Students program them with our tablets and various applications to create new robot behaviors.
~ Underwater Robotics – Construct an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and participate in several underwater challenges. We cover everything from construction, design, electronics, soldering, and engineering concepts for building an ROV.
~ Introduction to Arduino – Dive into programming and engineering using the Arduino microcontroller. Connect electrical circuits, sensors, and learn how to use them with the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
~ Learn to Solder –Whether you’ve never touched an iron before or are looking for a little refresher, let’s get started building a fun interactive robot bug that you solder up and take home.
